We want to pass on our tradition of hospitality to future generations
Our greatest wish is to host future generations in a sustainable and environmentally responsible city. As human beings, we have a responsibility to influence our environment and improve the lives around us. Achieving this future depends on what we do together.
Follow your dreams
We are heirs to romanticism, which means that for us there is no distance between feeling and action. At Hotel Bécquer, we believe in a better world and we do everything we can to make this dream come true.
What do we do?

We are committed to the local economy and rely on local suppliers to provide us with high quality products and, where possible, organic or sustainable products.

We have implemented a “zero single-use plastics” policy.
We recycle all the waste we produce and provide our guests with the facilities to do the same, including recycling bins in all rooms and public areas of the hotel.

We educate our customers about responsible use of water, energy, air conditioning and towel washing through signage around the property.

We minimise the use of paper, prioritise electronic formats and use recycled paper in 98% of applications where it is unavoidable.

We have replaced single-dose toiletries with dispensers, reducing product waste and the use of single-use plastics.

We participate in sports and cultural activities organised by the city for social interest, such as the Seville Night Race, which is usually held with a solidarity objective.

We work with local and international organisations and associations such as the Seville Food Bank, the Spanish Association Against Cancer, the Polígono Sur Shelter and the Vicente Ferrer Foundation, among others.

We go out with the Night Brigade to distribute clothing, food and drink to the homeless in the centre of Seville.

We join the actions organised by Ok Planet Sevilla and the Coca-Cola Foundation to collect the rubbish accumulated on the banks of the Guadalquivir.

We organise Christmas activities such as the Royal Postman, so that children without resources can deliver their letter to the Three Wise Men, and solidarity lunches, where everyone is invited to enjoy a hot drink with our pastries and, if they wish, make a donation towards the large purchase we make for the Seville Food Bank.

We do our bit by collecting essential products for people affected by natural disasters, conflicts and humanitarian catastrophes.
A sustainability plan in the broadest sense of the word
Our sustainability plan is a living, constantly evolving project, designed together with leading experts in the field. We have learned from them that there are many different factors that influence the balance of our environment and the world. That is why the plan is as broad and flexible as the reality that surrounds us.
This is our plan

Become aware of our power to change things. Tourism is a sector with an enormous impact on the world’s economic and social dynamics, and we must always use that impact for the better.

Ensure our environmental, social and governance initiatives serve as an example and counterbalance to a tourism industry that does not always leave a positive footprint.

Commit to measuring our carbon footprint and meeting the challenge of reducing it year after year.

Raise awareness, collaborate, share. Because we believe that if everyone does their bit, the world will be a much better place for everyone.

Commit to environmental balance, social progress and economic growth, three objectives that are as necessary as they are compatible.
Welcome, sustainable travelers
Our doors are open to everyone and we want to keep them that way for many years to come, but the sustainability of Seville and the world also depends on you. Come to our hotel, explore our city, let yourself be enveloped by its history, its life, its unique atmosphere… and, if possible, help us to respect everything that surrounds us.

Learn how to make a positive impact on your trips
The effects of tourism can be as good or as bad as we want them to be. It all depends on our attitude. These tips will help you visit any place in the world in a way that respects the environment and local culture:
- Find out about your destination so you can choose sustainable accommodation and shops.
- Get around by public transport, cycling or walking.
- Respect the local culture and customs.
- Be aware of your footprint on the planet.
- Consume responsibly.
- Use your electronic devices instead of printing paper tickets or reservations.
- Get to know local businesses. Local is more authentic and sustainable.
- Do your bit for the environment by not participating in activities that mistreat animals, disturb their natural habitats or change the landscape.
- Use complimentary and free resources only when you need them.
- Remember that small gestures such as not wasting water, using bins, recycling or reusing towels in your room can help reduce a huge negative impact on the environment.
